My work explores themes of life, death, and grief through observation of cycles of nature. My recent work is focused on spiritual differences between the so-called East and West. The alchemical copperplate etching process speaks to the subject of death and rebirth; lines of shimmering copper, transmuted by acid and ink into a final print. The compositions reference classical religious art of the European Renaissance and Baroque periods, upon which imagery that speaks to my relationship with spirituality is superimposed. Abstractions of energetic forces found in nature are also incorporated as a personal iconography.
